About Kris Hunter and Kathy DiDomenico

Meet Kris Hunter
Hi, I’m Kris—an Oklahoma gal who believes a creative life is about so much more than what we make with our hands. It’s about making a life that feels good to live. For years, my little saying has been “Makin’ Happy Outta Crappy,” and honestly, that still sums me up pretty well. I believe there’s almost always a little joy to be found, created, cooked, decorated, shared—or occasionally hot-glued—right in the middle of ordinary life.
I’ve been an entrepreneur for most of my life. While my husband was faithfully serving our country, I built businesses that allowed me to be home and present for our family. For many years, that included owning a catering and event-planning business, where I discovered just how much I loved creating beautiful experiences, gathering people together, and taking care of others.
In 2020, I brought that same heart online. What began as a way to bring a little happiness and creativity into a difficult season grew into an incredible community—and somewhere along the way, I realized that sharing creativity with others was helping me rediscover pieces of myself, too.
Crafting will always be my therapy, but A Creative Life with Kris Hunter is about the whole creative lifestyle.
Around here, you’ll find me crafting and junk journaling, decorating and giving old things new life, cooking and entertaining, trying new products, making jewelry, playing with pretty things, sharing everyday life, laughing at the things that don’t go according to plan, and probably chasing whatever creative rabbit hole makes me happy that day.
I don’t believe you have to be an artist, have a perfect home, cook perfect meals, or have everything figured out to live creatively.
Creativity is a lifestyle.
It’s setting a pretty table just because.
It’s turning something forgotten into something beautiful.
It’s making food for people you love.
It’s trying something new at any age.
It’s gathering around a table, making a mess, laughing too loudly, and choosing to notice the good stuff.
This season of my life is about returning to joy—and hopefully inspiring other women to do the same.
So pull up a chair. Bring your coffee, your craft supplies, your latest thrift-store treasure, or just yourself.
There’s always room for you here.
Welcome to A Creative Life with Kris Hunter—where we’re creating more than pretty things. We’re creating a life we love. ❤️
